Biography
Shawn K. Richards, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, was born on December 8, 1972. He holds a BA in Business Administration and a Master’s in Accountancy and Financial Information Systems from Cleveland State University and the University of the Virgin Islands, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Political Career
Richards first contested general elections in October 2004, winning the seat for Constituency #5, Sandy Point, and currently serves as Political Leader of the People’s Action Movement.
Community Contributions
He has sponsored educational awards, founded community recognition programmes, and sponsors the Shawn Richards Basketball Competition during the annual Easter Rama Festival.
